Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are seeking a Full-Time Registered Behavior Technician to help effectively support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home and community-based setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide evidence-based and data-driven services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports.
  • Implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan to assist participants in acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
  • Provide timely and structured written feedback to clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies.
  • Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant's support network regarding recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan.
  • Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization.
  • Prepare progress reports for the participant's team as needed.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment.
  • Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports.
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently.
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants receiving supports.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion may be required.
  • Required to utilize personal vehicle.
  • May be required to lift or move 25+ pounds.
  • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases.
