Clinical Dietitian

Job Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian is a key member of the interdisciplinary team at Loretto, responsible for providing comprehensive nutrition care to residents and participants in our long-term care facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of gerontological nutrition and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:- Nutrition Assessment and Planning: Conduct initial nutritional evaluations of residents/participants, assess and monitor nutritional risk, and develop personalized plans of care.
- Clinical Nutrition Services: Collaborate with healthcare providers, residents, and families to develop and implement nutritional plans, address acute clinical situations, and monitor lab results.
- Education and Training: Educate residents, participants, and staff on prescribed diets and nutrition plans, provide written materials and resources, and assess compliance and understanding.
- Menu Planning and Recipe Analysis: Assist in menu planning and recipe analysis, communicate resident and participant feedback on meal acceptance, and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Leadership and Training: Lead training sessions for staff on nutrition-related topics, assume responsibilities of the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor in their absence, and act as a preceptor to dietetic students.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in dietetics from an accredited academic institution, completion of a dietetic internship, and current registration or eligibility.
- Experience: Two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with long-term care or outpatient experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, and proficiency in MS Office.
- Competitive Pay: $36-$40 per hour
