About the Job: The Womens Care unit at Catholic Health Initiatives is a 16-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) dedicated to supporting the well-being of women in Central and Eastern Kentucky. As a Newborn Care Specialist on our team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Your primary responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, accepting assigned groups of patients as needed, and maintaining clinical standards of care. Additionally, you will be responsible for communicating effectively with the care management team, including physicians, midwives, lactation nurses, charge nurses, postpartum units, patients, and families. You will also be expected to facilitate patient throughput activities in the assigned unit, maintain evidence-based nursing practices, and achieve desirable patient outcomes in accordance with the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.
