Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Radiologic Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by utilizing advanced imaging technology to capture diagnostic images of the human body. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of radiographic procedures and the ability to provide compassionate care tailored to the diverse needs of patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist include, but are not limited to:

  • Employing radiation safety measures and patient shielding techniques to ensure minimal exposure for both patients and staff.
  • Conducting radiographic examinations across various body parts for accurate diagnostic interpretation, while exercising sound professional judgment.
  • Preparing the imaging environment by setting up the x-ray room, adjusting equipment settings, and positioning patients appropriately to achieve optimal imaging results.
  • Assessing patients' imaging requirements based on physician requests and instructions.
  • Performing necessary imaging procedures, ensuring quality standards are met, and repeating any substandard images as required.
  • Communicating effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and secure their cooperation.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participating in the department's quality assurance initiatives related to radiographic practices.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to uphold ARRT certification.
  • Facilitating safe patient transfers to and from the radiology department, adhering to established protocols.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and care of imaging equipment.
  • Demonstrating flexibility by being available for various shifts and remaining until all scheduled procedures are completed.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to additional imaging modalities as required by the organization.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The standard working hours for this position include:

  • Monday: 9 AM - 5 PM
  • Tuesday: 9 AM - 5 PM
  • Every other Saturday: 8 AM - 12 PM

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants should possess an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical institution.
