We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Teacher to join our team at the Harrisonburg Rockingham Child Day Care Center. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young learners and contributing to their growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging educational programs that cater to the diverse needs of our children, incorporating developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan and execute individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth, ensuring a stimulating and nurturing environment for our children.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring a strong partnership between home and school.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, ensuring seamless administrative processes.
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement and growth.
Requirements
  • Experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • A positive, reliable work ethic and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to work well with others, fostering a team environment.
  • Meets or exceeds licensing requirements, including a TB test, background check, documentation of citizenship, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CDA or other Associate's Degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification and Medication Administration Training (MAT).
