Job Overview

The Inner City Education Foundation is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide specialized health services to students with unique physical health care needs.

This role requires a high level of autonomy, with minimal supervision, to provide non-routine and routine specialized basic health care procedures necessary to ensure student safety on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation, be able to quickly gain trust and build effective relationships, and have a rock-solid commitment to ICEF's mission and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized health services to students with physical health care needs under the guidelines provided by the student's doctor.
  • Administer medication to students as prescribed and maintain organization of the medication drawer.
  • Log, track, and generate daily reports of all visits to the wellness center with reason for the visit.
  • Maintain the inventory of First Aid supplies, including classroom care kits and ice bags.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid California Vocational Nurse's license.
  • One year of nursing experience working with children in a school setting (preferred).
  • CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, knowledge of and/or experience working in the communities we serve required.
