Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate patient identification, verifies orders, and prepares patients for imaging procedures.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient needs throughout the imaging process.
  • Clearly explains the procedure to patients and their families to promote cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Addressees any patient inquiries or concerns.
  • Conducts radiologic examinations that yield high-quality images while ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
  • Achieves this by adhering to established protocols, proper patient positioning, effective equipment usage, and compliance with radiation safety guidelines.
  • Employs sterile techniques during invasive procedures.
  • Recognizes urgent patient situations and responds swiftly and appropriately.
  • Completes all necessary documentation accurately, including timestamps and image storage.
  • Coordinates patient care and communicates relevant information to other healthcare providers post-procedure.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Ensures that supplies and equipment are stored efficiently and systematically.
  • Pursues ongoing education and professional development opportunities, particularly in new procedures and technologies.
  • As needed, assists and mentors students and fellow Radiologic Technologists in protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment usage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • ARRT registration.
  • Current Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist within a specified timeframe and perform MA functions as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IV Certification.

Physical Requirements:

Includes carrying, hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, pushing/pulling, seeing, speaking, standing, and walking.
