Job Summary:
The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate or Senior Research Specialist to join the Lee Lab. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of research programs and projects related to deep brain stimulation for treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and data analysis to support the progress of our research programs;
- Employ advanced statistical techniques and machine learning methods to analyze large-scale and longitudinal human electrophysiological data;
- Develop and test models of neural representations of disease symptom states;
- Assist with regulatory submissions to IRBs and FDA;
- Communicate effectively with collaborators and stakeholders;
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals and research manuscripts;
- Prepare conference presentations and academic publications.
Requirements:
- Master's or equivalent degree in a research-based science field, or five to ten years of relevant experience;
- Terminal degree in a research-based science field, or ten or more years of relevant experience;
- Experience working with patients in a psychiatric setting;
- Advanced knowledge of clinical research, signal processing, time series analyses, EEG/ECoG/iEEG, advanced statistics, Python, brain stimulation therapies, neural modeling, biomarker development, and brain stimulation and recording techniques;
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the design and successful completion of experiments, data analysis, and reporting;
- Proven skills and experience in independently resolving broad problems that may arise in collection or analysis of laboratory data;
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Demonstrated experience and ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff;
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel;
- Proven ability to successfully work on multiple concurrent projects;
- Demonstrate high integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Independent specialized research experience;
- Master's or equivalent degree in a research-based science field.
