Position Overview

1.0 FTE. This role is situated within a clinical setting focused on orthopedic care.

Direct experience in orthopedics as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is essential.

Under the supervision of a licensed physician, the incumbent will deliver medical evaluations, manage routine patient care, and provide follow-up services as required. This position also involves assisting the physician during procedures and acting as a communication bridge between the physician and patients. Continuous collaboration with the supervising physician, nursing personnel, support staff, and other healthcare professionals is expected. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary, including potential involvement in operating and procedure rooms, and participation in on-call duties.

Qualifications:

For Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs):

  • Completion of a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse and as an APRN in Minnesota
  • Certification from a recognized national credentialing organization
  • Specialty certification is required
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development as mandated by the certifying body
  • Prior experience in orthopedic settings is preferred

For Physician Assistants (PAs):

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Active or eligible for Minnesota state licensure
  • Prior experience in orthopedic settings is preferred

Both positions require:

  • Basic Life Support certification (Advanced Life Support as necessary for the practice area)
  • DEA registration
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Registration with the Minnesota Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)
