As an Occupational Therapist at Carle Health, you will play a vital role in evaluating and treating patients of all ages. You will serve as a role model in the delivery of professional services and a clinical resource for staff and students.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients to integrate goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans
- Design plans of care that adjust as needed
- Educate patients, family, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers
- Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes
- Perform examinations and select reliable methods relevant to the chief complaint and history
- Screen patients to determine the effectiveness and need for therapy services
- Use support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines, monitoring their care and providing feedback
- Document evaluations and plans of care according to department policy
- Collaborate with patients, family, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process
- Provide supervision to COTA and rehabilitation technicians
- Clearly communicate patient performance, status, and discharge recommendations with the medical team
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Occupational Therapist (OT) License in Illinois upon hire
- Attends and completes all required continuing education
