Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapist at Carle Health, you will play a vital role in evaluating and treating patients of all ages. You will serve as a role model in the delivery of professional services and a clinical resource for staff and students.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients to integrate goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans
  • Design plans of care that adjust as needed
  • Educate patients, family, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers
  • Evaluate clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and outcomes
  • Perform examinations and select reliable methods relevant to the chief complaint and history
  • Screen patients to determine the effectiveness and need for therapy services
  • Use support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines, monitoring their care and providing feedback
  • Document evaluations and plans of care according to department policy
  • Collaborate with patients, family, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Provide supervision to COTA and rehabilitation technicians
  • Clearly communicate patient performance, status, and discharge recommendations with the medical team


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Occupational Therapist (OT) License in Illinois upon hire
  • Attends and completes all required continuing education
