About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to join the team at the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a Visitor Services Assistant. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences for our visitors.

Job Overview

The Visitor Services Assistant serves as a friendly and professional ambassador for the museum, providing world-class customer service to our diverse visitor base. You will be responsible for greeting visitors, answering questions, and offering directions and information about the museum's collections and exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, responding to their needs and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Actively engage with visitors, promoting the museum's programs and events, and encouraging them to return.
  • Operate the museum's ticketing terminals efficiently and accurately, handling cash and card transactions with ease.
  • Assist with coat check operations, ensuring that visitors' belongings are safe and secure.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the museum's collections, exhibitions, and programs, using this expertise to provide informative and engaging responses to visitors' queries.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, with a focus on building positive relationships with visitors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and visitors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Prior experience in customer-facing roles, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a proven track record of dependability and punctuality.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and software, including point-of-sale terminals and basic office applications.
