Job Summary:
Sysco is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet by performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, refrigeration units, and other vehicle components to ensure optimal performance.
- Mentor and train junior technicians to aid in their development and ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
- Perform moderate supervisory roles when the Fleet Manager or Fleet Supervisors are not available.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; ASE certifications and automotive or medium/heavy duty truck technical training preferred.
- 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate various pieces of equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and confined spaces.
- Non-traditional business hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Occasional travel to other Operating Companies or the corporate office for training, business continuation, and other business needs.
