Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Clinical Manager and in collaboration with the school principal, the Non-Licensed Clinician will provide a range of therapeutic services to children and adolescents within the assigned educational institutions. Responsibilities encompass individual and group counseling, fostering a positive school environment, delivering trauma-informed care and education, supporting teachers, and facilitating referrals to appropriate services from the Agency. The clinician will also engage with Pathways therapists, child and adolescent programs, case managers, and medication providers as necessary.
The Non-Licensed Clinician will coordinate a weekly schedule in partnership with the Clinical Manager and School Principal, committing to eight hours per day, five days a week during the academic year. Availability for on-call duties outside the academic year may be required based on the needs of the Agency and School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver client and family education, support, and care in a culturally-responsive and competent manner.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality when handling client information.
- Serve children, adolescents, and families at the designated school(s).
- Provide effective outpatient interventions and therapeutic services for students identified by the clinician, school, or families, with parental authorization.
- Conduct intakes and facilitate referrals for additional services, including individual therapy, medication evaluations, group therapy, and case management.
- Lead in-services, training sessions, and consultations for faculty and staff as required.
- Coordinate and monitor follow-up services provided to clients and families.
- Complete all necessary documentation promptly.
- Report work activities to the Clinical Manager and School Principal as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with school and agency personnel, parents, therapists, physicians, and case managers.
- Participate in scheduled staffing or supervision, demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning and best practices in client care.
- Engage in additional activities or responsibilities as directed by supervisors or the agency.
Education:
- Master's degree required.
- Preferred: Master's in social work, counseling, or psychology.
- Other disciplines must include at least 2 years of experience serving vulnerable and resilient children and youth.
- Any additional certification or training as required by the school, supervisor, or agency.
- Emergency behavior management training within the orientation period, maintained throughout employment.
- Preferred experience working with vulnerable and resilient populations.
- Preferred experience with children and youth in both individual and group settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.
- Eager to learn and implement new technologies and behavioral interventions.
- Understanding of adverse childhood experiences and their impact on the health and well-being of children and adolescents, utilizing best practices for trauma-sensitive care.
