Position Overview
This is a hybrid, compensated internship opportunity within the STERIS Procedural GI division. The Marketing Communications Trainee will collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to aid in digital marketing efforts, content creation, search engine optimization (SEO), and the analysis of marketing performance metrics.
This extended internship role offers students the chance to enrich their academic journey by acquiring practical marketing experience in a healthcare setting, targeting audiences such as healthcare professionals, technicians, and hospital administrators in both acute and outpatient care settings.
Key Internship Details:
- Duration: Starting in the upcoming semester with potential for extension
- Work Hours: Approximately hours per week
- Location: Hybrid work model preferred; remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates
- Assist in all marketing communication initiatives for the business unit, including product launches, integrated marketing campaigns, trade show communications, journal advertising, direct marketing, web content, social media engagement, sales support, and customer materials.
- Act as a liaison with corporate communications, serving as an extension of the business unit's marketing team.
- Work closely with the eBusiness team and Product Managers to evaluate online marketing effectiveness and develop campaigns for key product lines.
- Investigate promotional channels and media to optimize performance against budget.
- Implement social media strategies by managing the content calendar, coordinating graphic design, researching competitive activities and hashtags, identifying trends, and conducting analytics.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to publish updates on internal sales platforms.
- Upload marketing materials to relevant internal and external platforms as necessary.
- Coordinate trademark renewals with Product Managers and the Legal team.
- Create content for various marketing purposes, including collateral, social media posts, and news articles.
- Partner with Product Managers to develop sales materials and promotional strategies.
- Oversee print initiatives, including vendor relationships, inventory management, and proofing processes.
- Manage the internal routing process for Marketing Communications projects as required.
- Analyze market research provided by the marketing team to better understand customer needs and market trends, ensuring effective communication of key messages. Regularly monitor the market landscape for trends to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Completion of 3+ years of college education in Marketing or Communications, with a desire to pursue a career in Marketing.
- A Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications is preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics, ClickUp, and Adobe software is preferred.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- Exceptional project management capabilities, adept at handling high volumes and complexity while maintaining professionalism and meeting commitments.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (both in-person and remote).
