The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care to clinic patients under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. This role requires collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Assist with patient preparation, examination, and testing.
- Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to treatments.
- Coordinate patient appointments and ensure timely flow of patients.
- Collect patient information, including vital signs and medical history.
- Perform various tasks, including blood collection, vital sign measurement, and specimen collection, as authorized by licensure and certification.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in patient education and provide instructions on medication and treatment.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and update patient care plans.
- Ensure exam rooms are prepared and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Attend meetings and participate in committees as required.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain licensure and affiliations.
- Adhere to CHRISTUS Health policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
- Valid state license to practice nursing.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Work Environment:
This role is a full-time position within the CHRISTUS Health organization.
