Job Summary:

The Golisano Center for Special Needs is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Technician to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with case managers, patients, and their families to develop and implement treatment plans that promote positive behavioral change.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily meetings with case managers to conceptualize and develop treatment plans
  • Communicate plans to patients and their families, and coordinate care with community providers with caregiver consent
  • Supervise and participate in the implementation of treatment plans, managing and graphing data as needed
  • Analyze data to identify key variables affecting patient outcomes and measure and track outcomes related to quality improvement
  • Assist with daily living tasks while ensuring patient privacy and dignity are respected
  • Participate in parent training, teacher and community-provider training, and other educational initiatives
  • Use time efficiently and productively in the absence of specific assigned responsibilities
  • Accept responsibilities and conduct oneself in a professional manner, identifying problems and suggesting strategies for resolving issues
  • Maintain confidentiality in all patient-related activities and utilize safe and appropriate handling and management procedures when transporting or working with patients
Requirements:
  • Associates degree (or higher) in Psychology, Education, or a related field, and one year of related direct patient care experience
  • Ability to physically manage patients
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and behavioral data collection software (e.g., BDataPro)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental delays and/or applied behavior analysis
  • Prior experience working as a Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) at the BBHU
  • Enrollment in a master's program for applied behavior analysis
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday.
