Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lactation Specialist RN to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Lactation Specialist RN, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and support to nursing mothers and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for nursing mothers and their babies.
  • Provide education and support to nursing mothers and their families on breastfeeding and lactation.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for nursing mothers and their babies.
  • Develop and implement lactation programs and services to support nursing mothers and their families.
  • Provide lactation consultations and support to nursing mothers and their families.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Connecticut.
  • IBCLC certification.
  • 2-3 years of clinical experience in a specialty area.
  • Ability to possess leadership role in a mature and sympathetic attitude to be sensitive to the new mothers at Bridgeport Hospital.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing/walking, frequent bending, reaching, stooping, squatting positions. Helps lift heavy objects and patients ranging from five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds with assistance from staff and using appropriate lifting techniques and/or equipment. May be exposure to infectious diseases.
