Primary Responsibilities

The Unarmed Security Officer is tasked with delivering security services at designated sites, emphasizing vigilance and reporting. Key responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring and documenting all activities within the assigned area.
  • Conducting foot and/or vehicle patrols as required.
  • Identifying and reporting any suspicious activities or individuals.
  • Writing comprehensive reports detailing incidents and daily activities.
  • Enforcing site-specific rules, regulations, and emergency protocols.
  • Responding to emergency situations and providing necessary assistance.

Essential Duties

The following duties are critical for fulfilling the role effectively:
  • Execute security measures as outlined in the Post Order Manual and follow directives from management.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both on foot and in vehicles, as necessary.
  • Identify potential security threats and unsafe conditions, reporting them promptly.
  • Perform site-specific tasks, which may include customer service, loss prevention, and lobby security.
  • Document incidents accurately and ensure all reports are completed and submitted.
  • Understand and implement site-specific policies and emergency response procedures.
  • Adhere to company standards regarding attendance, grooming, and customer service.
  • Participate in all required training and orientation programs.
  • Respond to incidents according to established protocols, ensuring proper documentation and notification of relevant parties.
  • Assist in various security and customer service functions as directed by supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior military experience or relevant education in security is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional security role is desirable.
  • Possession of a valid state registration/permit/license as required.
  • Ability to provide reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Strong written communication skills for report writing.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to manage conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
