Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and distribution center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts.
  • Plan and Schedule Work: Plan and schedule work activities to meet customer metrics, including inbound and outbound schedules.
  • Manage Staffing and Resources: Determine staffing needs based on workload and schedule staff accordingly. Assign workers to specific duties based on workload and shipping schedules.
  • Monitor Productivity and Performance: Track productivity and qualify performance by individual, function, and department. Work with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy possible.
  • Manage Payroll and Employee Relations: Manage payroll of department and advise employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed and maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise 20+ employees in the area of Operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
