Our Real Estate division serves a diverse clientele, including Real Estate Investment Trusts, Private Equity Funds, developers, and family offices engaged in real estate activities. You will interact with a wide range of clients, from seasoned real estate investors to those making their initial property purchases.

RSM US LLP is on the lookout for a proficient Tax Manager to enhance our expanding Investment Fund practice. In this capacity, you will collaborate with various clients within the financial services domain, encompassing private equity funds, hedge funds, and real estate investors. This role offers the chance to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to Real Estate private equity funds and REITs, delivering services to owner-operated real estate entities, property management firms, and both residential and commercial real estate clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of intricate partnership returns for real estate clients
  • Serve as a Career Advisor, providing mentorship to team members and delivering performance evaluations
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives for staff
  • Manage multiple complex issues while effectively communicating technical details to clients
  • Coordinate tax client services
  • Provide counsel on corporate tax matters, including planning, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Stay informed on current tax practices and legislative changes
  • Engage in new business development and enhancements to client services
  • Oversee corporate client requirements for tax services and compliance
  • Travel may be necessary based on business requirements
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business taxation at a reputable accounting firm
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Licensed JD
  • Experience in tax compliance for real estate private equity clients and REITs
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in tax code and technical tax preparation
  • Strong accounting and tax preparation capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Knowledge of accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
  • Experience in international tax issues
