Position Overview:

Pennoni Associates Inc. is seeking a dedicated Staff Civil Engineer specializing in transportation to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing a diverse range of projects that cater to various clients, including state departments of transportation and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage projects of varying scales for clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and technical personnel.
  • Utilize software tools such as Autodesk, MicroStation Connect, Open Roads Design, and ProjectWise to coordinate highway design tasks.
  • Collaborate with survey, traffic, water resources, and bridge teams on transportation enhancement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MicroStation Connect, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and ProjectWise, or Autodesk/Civil 3D.
  • Experience in highway and roadway design.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam PDF editor and GIS tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in Hydrology and Hydraulic (H&H) design.
  • Expertise in drainage design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
  • Utility design experience, including water and sanitary sewer layouts.
  • Ability to develop Maintenance of Traffic schemes and Traffic Control Plans.
  • Experience in preparing project cost estimates and specifications.
  • Consultation experience during construction phases.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in drafting technical reports and memorandums.
