Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Memorial Health, you will play a critical role in assisting in the diagnosis of heart disease by performing Echocardiographic procedures on neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adults. This position requires the ability to perform other diagnostic procedures, including stress testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sectional anatomy and be able to select the proper technical factors and imaging modes to produce high-quality images.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct Echocardiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of heart disease, utilizing knowledge of sectional anatomy to produce high-quality images.
  2. Obtain and utilize pertinent medical history to obtain optimum exams, and communicate with medical professionals to ensure continuity of patient care.
  3. Coordinate echocardiographic procedures with appropriate departments and personnel, ensuring exams are completed in a prompt manner.
  4. Utilize effective patient care and communication skills to obtain optimum patient rapport, and monitor patient condition to take appropriate action.
  5. Perform clerical tasks, including scheduling exams and faxing results, and review and recommend equipment/supply purchases to maintain adequate inventory supply.


Requirements

  • Active RDCS certification required, or registry eligible, with the ability to obtain RDCS within 1 year of hire.
  • Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Three to five years of experience in echocardiography preferred.
