Senior Software Development Engineer, Candidate Experience Innovator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team in shaping the future of Amazon's candidate experience. As a key member of our Hiring Software Delivery (HSD) Corporate org, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable technology recruiting solutions that are both powerful and lightweight.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, and operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate solutions across multiple pipelines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing robust feature sets, intuitive designs, and user interfaces that make it easy for Amazonians to excel at recruiting top talent.
- Collaborating and leading initiatives across multiple teams to develop applications on AWS cloud infrastructure and set best practices for software development processes.
- Leading teams, developing code, building CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and dashboards for monitoring system health and data pipelines.
- Mentoring junior and new team members and leading engineering excellence initiatives for the org.
A day in the life of a Senior Software Development Engineer in our HSD Corporate org involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating services that enable high-quality talent acquisition for Amazon. We write code, debug, and create innovative products while working collaboratively with other teams for designing and delivering scalable, flexible, low-latency, and high-throughput software.
Basic qualifications include:
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
