Key Responsibilities:

The role involves conducting analytical assessments of nutritional products, including those for infants, adults, and medical use, ensuring adherence to quality standards. This position focuses on performing tests on raw materials and finished goods as outlined in established protocols, under the supervision of a lab manager or testing expert. The technician is expected to deliver high-quality results while complying with safety regulations and laboratory protocols. There may be opportunities to contribute to method development, investigations, and validation initiatives.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Preparing, analyzing, and processing nutrient evaluations on research samples.
  • Comparing findings against established specifications, ensuring that analytical documentation is thorough, precise, and compliant.
  • Upholding best practices in the laboratory environment.
  • Executing accurate and meticulous testing in accordance with laboratory methodologies.
  • Managing sample timelines and addressing any sample backlogs effectively.
  • Operating various analytical instruments, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Conducting wet chemistry analyses.
  • Investigating method deviations and unusual results.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining data integrity, and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues while sharing laboratory resources.
  • Capability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Fundamental wet chemistry skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with HPLC and ICP techniques.
  • Familiarity with Sample Manager (LIMS) and other laboratory data management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt, with overtime compensation at a rate of Time and a Half for hours exceeding 40 per week.
