Electrical Engineer for Avionics Systems

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future of avionics systems. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with experience in designing, analyzing, and testing avionics equipment subsystems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of avionics systems, including flight displays, flight computers, control systems, and data storage.

Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot avionics equipment subsystems
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  • Perform informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • 2 years of related professional/military experience in engineering, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of experience, or a Ph.D. in STEM with 0 years of experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope
  • Demonstrated experience with aircraft cockpit avionics, including flight displays, flight computers, control systems, and data storage
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain DoD TOP SECRET security clearance
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools, developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
  • Experience with integration of COTS/MOTS electronics into airborne military systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and customer representatives
