Job Summary

Cape Fear Community College is seeking a qualified Clinical Instructor - EMS to join our team. As a Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of the clinical schedule
  • Assist students in ensuring all clinical benchmarks are adhered to
  • Provide basic instruction in practical exercises related to the EMS curriculum
  • Identify and solve problems and facilitate problem solving
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Operate office equipment, including computers and simulation equipment used in the instruction
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, both verbally and in writing
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current NC AEMT, NC Paramedic credential, or other approved credential or certification and experience relevant to assisting in EMS education
  • Two years as an active field provider at their level of EMS credential
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years as an active field provider at their level of EMS credential
  • NCOEMS Level 1 Instructor
  • AHA, NAEMT, or other instructor certifications
Special Instructions to Applicants
  • This position requires unofficial transcripts and/or training certifications to be submitted in addition to the application.
  • This position requires teaching a teaching or administrative schedule that may include day, evening, and weekends.
  • Successful candidates are required to submit official transcripts for all degrees obtained, prior to the official date of hire.
  • Successful candidates who have obtained their education outside of the US and its territories must have their academic degree(s) validated, at their own expense, by an outside credential evaluation service as equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Master's degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.
