Job Summary

The State of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Probation Parole Officer II to join our team. As a Probation Parole Officer II, you will be responsible for supervising high-risk offenders who are sentenced by the Court and/or Parole Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise high-risk, high-needs, high-profile, and specialized-circumstance offenders following sentencing by Judicial Authorities and/or Parole Board.
  • Utilize the Community Supervision Model to ensure effective supervision and rehabilitation of offenders.
  • Conduct regular home visits, interviews, and monitoring of offenders to ensure compliance with court orders and parole conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized case plans to address the specific needs and risks of each offender.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Two years of experience as a Probation and Parole Officer I, commissioned or non-commissioned law enforcement officer, or behavioral case management.
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Age of majority.
  • Good moral character.
  • No felony convictions.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates. May be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
