Job Summary:

The Senior Project Engineer, Systems Development will play a key role in designing and implementing hardware and software solutions for industrial control systems. This position will work closely with principal engineers and other functions to develop commercially viable solutions using PLCs, HMIs, PCs, and other industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement drive controls using knowledge of power systems.
  • Develop AC/DC drive control architecture and system design for automation of plants and machinery.
  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial equipment.
  • Create schematic and layout designs for electrical and electronic control systems using AUTOCAD Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Conduct simulation, testing, and documentation of systems.
  • Estimate systems project RFQ and interface with sales and customers.
  • Commission systems and ensure smooth implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering.
  • PE License is a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in design and implementation of industrial control systems.
  • Minimum 7 years of programming experience with PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct work experience with schematic and panel layouts.
  • Knowledge of C#, VB,.NET, OPC, and SQL is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA70, and UL 508 standards.
  • Direct experience with implementation of systems using Ethernet/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, DeviceNET, ProfiNET, and Modbus TCP/IP.
  • Experience with Rockwell, GE, Siemens, and Schneider PLC platforms.
