Leidos is seeking a licensed behavioral health professional to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) team, supporting military families at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. Job Description:

The Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) Military and Family Life Counselor position involves providing non-medical support, including counseling, consultation, and outreach, to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth. This role is preventive in nature, aiming to address and provide solution-focused approaches to issues before they become greater challenges.

Military Life Challenges:

Military children and teens face unique emotional and environmental challenges due to the stress of military life. As a CYB-MFLC, you will have the opportunity to reach them where and when they need it most, providing support and guidance to help them thrive.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working at youth centers populated by military youth and teens
  • Observing, participating, and engaging in activities with youth and/or teens
  • Providing coaching, guidance, and support to staff and parents
  • Modeling behavior management techniques for staff and parents
  • Offering presentations to address social skills development and social emotional learning
  • Promoting creativity and positivity through approved materials
  • Building rapport with parents and families through installation and community events
  • Helping with transition adjustments, such as new schools and homes
  • Participating in regular in-service training and other contract activities
  • Communicating information regarding trends and issues at assigned installations to Team Leads

Additional Job Duties:

As a CYB-MFLC, you may also be responsible for:

  • Responding to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation
  • Traversing long distances to both indoor and outdoor locations
  • Working in outdoor weather conditions

Licensure Portability:

Under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), licensed Military and Family Life Counselors may provide non-medical counseling services to military families at any location in the United States, regardless of their state of licensure.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions
  • Be a valid independent license in the mental health field from any U.S. state or territory
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, and location.
