Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at KinderCare Education. As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals for our children, ensuring that they receive the fuel they need to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of our children.
- Order food and supplies, and manage inventory to ensure that we have the necessary resources to provide high-quality meals.
- Dispense and store medication, as requested, and complete timely and accurate documentation according to KinderCare and other licensing or regulation requirements.
- Support the success of our centers by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
- Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures, and the ability to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance.
- Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantities of food for our center population.
- Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions.
- Possession of a Food Handler's License or willingness to obtain.
- At least one year of institutional cooking experience, with food ordering experience highly desirable.
- Two or more years working with children, highly desirable.
- Physical ability to use a computer with basic proficiency and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents.
