Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as a Direct Care Staff member will include:
* Assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, feeding, taking medications, and Range of Motion (ROM) exercises, both in the home and in the community. You will also assist with weighing program participants, take vital signs, gather and record other data as requested.
* Collaborating with residents to develop treatment and behavior plans, and goal building and achievement, focusing on empowerment and independence.
* Teaching and modeling appropriate social and independent living skills, encouraging individuals to perform tasks as independently as possible and participate in activities.
* Participating in resident, family, team, and staff meetings, actively contributing to the development and implementation of individualized care plans.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A high school diploma or equivalent degree, preferably with one year of experience providing direct care with individuals who have cognitive or developmental disabilities.
* Enthusiasm, motivation, open-mindedness, creativity, and a desire to thrive in a collaborative team-based environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate basic computer applications.
* A valid driver's license, access to an operational and insured vehicle, and a willingness to use it to transport clients. You may also drive a company-owned wheelchair lift-equipped van.
* Strongly prefer candidates with a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
