Job Title: Wastewater Operator

Más Talent HR is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Operator to join our team in Trophy Club, Texas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our wastewater treatment facilities.

Job Summary

The Wastewater Operator will participate in all phases of wastewater treatment and operation, including the operation of pumps, controls, valves, addition of chemicals, meter and gauge readings, and the repair of water, air, sludge, and grit piping systems. You will also assist in maintenance and repairs to the wastewater collection lines and assist other operators in the operation and repair work and overhaul of machinery and equipment, feed equipment, and valves in treatment systems.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities, including pumps, controls, valves, and chemical addition systems.
  • Assist in maintenance and repairs to wastewater collection lines.
  • Assist other operators in the operation and repair work and overhaul of machinery and equipment, feed equipment, and valves in treatment systems.
  • Perform manual labor, including excavation, painting, carpentry, plumbing, general building maintenance, and property maintenance.
  • Make laboratory tests required to assure efficient operation of the sewer treatment facilities.
  • Inspect and test operating equipment in the treatment facilities.
  • Keep logs and other records of operation.
  • Assist in preparation of reports for State and Federal agencies as necessary.
  • Assist other personnel as necessary under the direction of the Chief Operator.
Requirements
  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent) required.
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
  • TCEQ Class D wastewater certification within six months of employment required.
  • Class B CDL within six months of employment required.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of methods and practices used in the operational and maintenance functions of sewage treatment and distribution facilities.
  • Knowledge of methods and practices used in repairing and maintaining sewage treatment machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Ability to effectively speak, write, and understand the English language.
