The Gene Therapy Development Associate role is pivotal in advancing the AAV candidates for SSi People's preclinical gene therapy initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on the production and evaluation of AAV-based vectors derived from transient transfection in mammalian cell systems. Candidates should possess significant expertise in mammalian cell culture and viral vector generation, alongside a solid understanding of molecular biology techniques, including plasmid construction and molecular assays for AAV characterization. Previous experience in AAV vector production is highly preferred. Additionally, the candidate should stay informed on relevant scientific literature and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively share findings with team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Production and analytical assessment of AAV vectors utilizing mammalian cell culture methodologies.
- Develop, refine, and troubleshoot protocols for AAV production workflows.
- Maintain thorough and organized electronic documentation, ensuring timely submissions.
- Communicate findings to team members through written reports and collaborative discussions.
Candidate Profile
- Possess experience in viral vector production and cell culture techniques, with a desire to deepen knowledge in AAV-based gene therapies. Eager to acquire innovative technical skills in a collaborative and cross-functional setting.
Essential Qualifications
- BS/MS degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related discipline with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Practical experience with adherent or suspension mammalian cell culture, adept in aseptic techniques, and proven ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot novel protocols and methodologies.
- Familiarity with fundamental molecular and analytical techniques such as PCR assays, plasmid preparation, and gel electrophoresis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with team members.
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently, adapt to changes, and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture for the production of viral vectors or recombinant proteins.
- Prior experience with bench-scale bioreactors utilizing mammalian platforms.
