Job Opportunity

This position supports the work of the Capital District YMCA, a leading charity committed to strengthening community. The successful candidate will assist the swim coach in building and maintaining a successful YMCA Swim Team. Key responsibilities include conducting swim practices and meets that adhere to all applicable guidelines.

Immediate Vacancies

We are currently seeking Assistant Swim Team Coaches for part-time seasonal positions with evening hours only. The following locations have immediate vacancies:

  • Glenville YMCA (2)
  • Guilderland YMCA (2)
  • Greenbush YMCA (2)
  • Southern Saratoga YMCA (2)
  • Bethlehem YMCA (3)
Mandatory Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age of 16 years old.
  • Pass a CDYMCA swim test, administered by the Aquatics Director or designated individual.
  • Hold valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
Assistant Swim Coach

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly rate of $16.85. Required documents include NYS Working Papers (for candidates under 18) and valid aquatic certifications.

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in competitive swim participation at the scholastic, collegiate, or club level.
  • Previous swim team coaching experience is required.
  • Experience with Meet and Team Manager Software is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Current aquatic certifications (YMCA or American Red Cross) are required.
