Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Supervisor to join our team at the Indian Health Service. As a key member of our Nursing Executive Team, you will be responsible for managing, planning, and organizing nursing care to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, coordinate, and direct clinical nursing activities
  • Provide supervision of an inpatient nursing unit, developing work schedules and work assignments to be accomplished by subordinates
  • Manage employee performance, identifying the need for unit-specific policies that guide medical nursing practice
  • Monitor healthcare services to ensure quality care in accordance with medical and nursing guidelines and accreditation requirements
Requirements
  • Graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service, performing the following type of work and/or tasks: administering, coordinating, and directing clinical nursing activities; providing supervision of an inpatient nursing unit, developing work schedules and work assignments to be accomplished by subordinates; managing employee performance, identifying the need for unit-specific policies that guide medical nursing practice, and monitoring healthcare services to ensure quality care in accordance with medical and nursing guidelines and accreditation requirements
