Position Overview:
The Room Attendant at Hotel Effie is tasked with ensuring that guest accommodations are clean, welcoming, and well-maintained while delivering exceptional service to all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor towards guests, managers, and fellow staff members.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms in accordance with Hotel Effie and Highgate Hotels standards.
  • Complete all pre-cleaning tasks, including organizing guest supplies, cleaning materials, and linens for the housekeeping cart.
  • Remove all waste and soiled linens from guest rooms and hallways.
  • Ensure that hallways, public spaces, and storage areas are kept clean, organized, and vacuumed as necessary.
  • Restock the housekeeping cart for the following day’s operations.
  • Replenish cleaning chemical bottles as needed.
  • Conduct room cleaning with the door closed, adhering to Hotel Effie and Highgate Hotels standards unless otherwise requested by the guest.
  • Report any missing items from rooms (e.g., irons, hair dryers) to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
  • Immediately report any maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
  • Handle lost and found items according to Hotel Effie and Highgate Hotels protocols.
  • Strive to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff and guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Able to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by guests and employees.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Effie and Highgate Hotels standards, which may vary based on hotel needs.
  • Exhibit high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform.
  • Comply with Hotel Effie and Highgate Hotels standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize productivity efforts and meet established performance standards.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as necessary.
  • Understand and manage housekeeping tools, such as the Synergy device, in accordance with established standards.
  • Be willing to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Always maintain a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
