We proudly represent over 125,000 individual members and supporters, alongside numerous affiliated religious, community, and labor organizations across the state.
Role: The Campaign Manager for the "Baltimore City Is Not For Sale" initiative will work under the guidance of our Campaigns Director. This role involves orchestrating the activities of the coalition, steering Progressive Maryland members and allies towards a successful electoral outcome against efforts to diminish city funding and eliminate City Council positions. This is a temporary contract role with the potential for full-time engagement as the election approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate coalition and steering committee meetings, fostering one-on-one interactions and collective actions to enhance our influence;
- Lead community outreach and voter education initiatives through systematic engagement with local organizations, congregations, and community hubs;
- Mobilize coalition members to achieve voter contact objectives through canvassing and polling place engagement;
- Oversee mass communication efforts, including campaign websites, social media, direct mail, and other media outreach;
- Maintain comprehensive records of campaign strategies, activities, and financial expenditures; ensure compliance with all necessary campaign reporting; organize debrief sessions post-election to capture insights for future initiatives;
- Travel throughout the city for campaign canvassing and actions as required;
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two cycles of demonstrated experience in a leadership role within issue-based or electoral campaigns;
- Proficient understanding of political communications and prior experience engaging with local media;
- Experience in managing voter data and canvassing through VAN;
- Familiarity with digital coordination tools such as Google Suite and Zoom;
- Availability for weekend and evening hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Baltimore City and Maryland political landscape;
- Experience working with or within the labor movement.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a temporary contract position. The role will begin as part-time, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time hours as the election date approaches. Compensation will be based on experience, with a monthly salary range for part-time work between $2,400 - $3,400; full-time compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
