Position Overview:

Our Long Island campus is currently seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team at the Jericho location. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of facilities, including the removal of trash and recyclables from communal and dining areas.
  • Execute manual sweeping and mopping of surfaces to ensure cleanliness.
  • Utilize both manual and mechanical methods for scrubbing, stripping, waxing, vacuuming, extracting, shampooing, dusting, polishing, and buffing surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness of light fixtures in public areas.
  • Clean windows and sliding doors on the first floor in common areas.
  • Sanitize showers and restrooms designated for public use.
  • Properly select and mix cleaning agents as required.
  • Utilize equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, vacuum cleaners, and power washers for effective cleaning.
  • Restock restroom supplies in shared facilities.
  • Follow directives from NYIT Administration and supervisory teams promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in optional facilities condition assessments to communicate maintenance needs.
  • Engage in training sessions on equipment operation as provided by supervisors.
  • Complete mandatory online training, including topics such as health and safety and workplace conduct.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the professional cleaning industry is essential.
  • Adherence to NYIT policies and procedures is required, including attendance and uniform regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and work in confined spaces.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • A valid New York State driver’s license is necessary.

Compensation:
