Sanitation Specialist

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Sanitation Specialist to join our team at the Army Mountain Warfare School in Jericho, VT. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our dining facility and surrounding areas, adhering to strict guidelines set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Code.

• Clean and sanitize all kitchen and dining room equipment, including counters, tables, and floors, to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests.
• Perform routine cleaning of kitchenware, dishware, utensils, and food service equipment after each meal, adhering to strict sanitation protocols.
• Ensure trash, recycling, and compost receptacles are emptied and replaced as needed during and after meal services, following Vermont State law for waste and recycling.
• Maintain the cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stoves, and dishwashing areas, ensuring all surfaces are free from spills, grease, and debris.
• Assist with additional cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring all areas are ready for meal service.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in cleaning, particularly in a food service environment, is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of safety and sanitation protocols for maintaining clean environments.
• Ability to work efficiently, adhering to scheduled tasks and ensuring areas are ready for meal service.
