Job Summary

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our team at the Richmond VA Medical Center. As a Staff Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clinical performance and provide guidance to Ocular Disease residents and senior students.
  • Resolve complaints from employees, Veterans, families, and others.
  • Lead a team of clinicians, technicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Create and maintain a patient-centered care environment.
  • Perform complete and thorough optometric exams and complete all clinical documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • United States Citizenship
  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited school
  • Licensed to practice optometry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduation from a formally accredited school or college of optometry
  • Completion of an ACOE accredited postgraduate optometric residency training

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
