Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician at MCR Hotels is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned. This role is a key part of our hotel's operations team, ensuring that our facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in the preventative maintenance program to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  2. Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  3. Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  4. Effectively and professionally communicate with guests, co-workers, and supervisors to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest service.
  5. Ensure all fire and safety inspections and protocols are completed, and any discrepancies are corrected.
  6. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to discuss scope of, and products and materials used in, repair activities.
  7. Obtain pricing and bids or develop cost estimates as needed.
  8. Monitor tools, supplies, and inventories of the maintenance department, placing orders with approved vendors as needed.
  9. Maintain working spaces in safe and clean condition, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  10. Communicate directly with front desk for guest service request issues, housekeeping for work orders, and General Manager for orders and capital expenditure projects.
  11. Carry all necessary equipment to be prepared to perform tasks at all times.
  12. Perform other tasks and jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Requirements
  1. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  2. Verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective communication with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
  3. Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations, utilizing reasoning abilities to resolve issues.
  4. Basic maintenance skills are required, including proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  5. Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, Company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  6. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, with a desire to serve all guests.
  7. Must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
  2. Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is a plus.
  3. At least 2 years of work-related experience is preferred.
  4. Experience in a hotel, apartment, or related field is a plus.
