Job Overview:
As an Environmental Services Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the housekeeping operations within our facilities. This position involves managing a team dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage housekeeping schedules to effectively meet daily operational demands.
- Oversee and evaluate work assignments, ensuring adherence to established standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor the quality of work performed by the housekeeping staff.
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing team members on cleaning protocols and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance and address any routine disciplinary issues.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate resources are available for operations.
- Foster a culture of exceptional customer service among staff, encouraging professional development and performance improvement.
- Supervise a team of 15-20 Environmental Services Technicians.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred experience includes 1-2 years in a related public sector environment.
- Supervisory experience of at least two years is preferred.
- Certification as a Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (C.H.E.S.T.) is advantageous.
- Experience working in environments that include individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook.
- Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Commitment to safety and health regulations.
Working Conditions:
Applicants must be able to pass background checks and screenings. The role may involve exposure to various environmental factors typical of a healthcare setting. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
