Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transmission Engineer to lead the design of complex transmission line projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leading technical design staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of transmission line projects from conceptual phase to completion, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement transmission equipment specifications, data sheets, and purchase recommendations.
  • Conduct economic conductor selection studies, lightning performance, and grounding calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, and regional requirements and standards.
  • Review transmission equipment vendor drawings and communicate with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in project schedule, scope, budget, and staffing planning, and manage change orders effectively.
  • Apply expert knowledge of transmission concepts, practices, codes, and procedures to complex projects.
  • Lead quality reviews of production drawings and specifications, and resolve design-related installation issues.
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors, and develop new business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Master of Science degree in Engineering a plus.
  • 7 years transmission engineering experience, with EPC project experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures, and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
