About The Smith
The Smith is a highly sought-after neighborhood brasserie, known for its bustling locations and vibrant ambiance. Our menu showcases classic bistro dishes, seasonal specialties, and expertly crafted cocktails. The lively environment makes The Smith an ideal venue for various occasions, from casual dinners to celebratory gatherings.
Position: Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in the management of kitchen operations. You will be dedicated to fostering an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative environment. Your expertise will shine in overseeing daily kitchen activities, ensuring team satisfaction, and providing constructive feedback while effectively managing kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain The Smith's standards for all team members
- Create prep lists, conduct checks, and audit preparation methods; assist on the line as needed
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and uphold food safety and sanitation standards to protect the health of employees and guests
- Supervise the preparation of all food items in the kitchen
- Keep workstations clean and organized throughout the shift
- Offer feedback and guidance to support team members, ensuring they have the necessary tools for success
- Oversee adherence to company policies and systems
- Manage inventory and order supplies to ensure freshness and timely use
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
- Exemplary standards of honesty and integrity
- Detail-oriented with a high level of confidence in your skills
- Strong team player with excellent communication abilities
- Genuine enjoyment in creating positive experiences for others
- Passion for the hospitality industry
- 2-3 years of culinary experience, preferably in high-volume settings

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $70,000-$80,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including prior experience and relevant skills.
