We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Assistant to join our team at Lutheran General in Park Ridge, IL. As a key member of our Orthopedic unit, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assist RNs with daily patient care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, and intake/output.
- Perform purposeful rounding and promptly communicate patient observations and concerns to RNs.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring patient rooms are set up and managed properly.
- Collect and process patient specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and maintain competency in these areas.
- Complete various errands, maintain stock, and clean equipment and work areas.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.
- Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
