Team OverviewThe Finance Engineering team is integral to Stripe, focusing on essential financial domains such as Accounting, Finance & Strategy, and Treasury. Our engineers develop platforms, data pipelines, and financial products, addressing use cases that encompass financial analytics, planning, forecasting, and business intelligence.
Role ResponsibilitiesWe are in search of a technical advisor capable of overseeing Finance-wide engineering initiatives. This position will collaborate closely with the Head of Finance Systems to identify technical action items, manage urgent technical follow-ups, and engage with Stripe leadership.
Key Duties- Serve as a Senior Staff or Principal Engineer with over 10 years of software engineering expertise.
- Possess a deep understanding of Stripe products and their implications for financial data.
- Demonstrate familiarity with scalable data systems, including Spark, Flink, Trino, and Kafka.
- Exhibit a hands-on approach: readiness to engage with technical details.
- Lead technical design efforts across various engineering teams to achieve business objectives.
- Communicate effectively and proactively address emerging risks or critical trade-offs.
We seek individuals who meet the essential qualifications for this role. If you fulfill these criteria, we encourage your application. Preferred qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Over 10 years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership across teams or product domains.
- Proven experience in leading complex discussions with senior leadership.
- Expertise in designing and implementing solutions for large-scale data challenges.
- Commitment to high-quality code standards.
- Willingness to commute to designated offices twice a week.
- Background in accounting, finance, and/or payment systems.
Employees assigned to an office are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the office each month, balancing in-person collaboration with individual flexibility.
The annual base salary range for this position is $232,000 - $348,000. This range may encompass various career levels at Stripe and will be refined during the interview process based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and location.
Additional benefits may include equity, company bonuses, a 401(k) plan, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
