Job Summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a highly skilled Medical Professional to join our team. As a Medical Professional, you will be responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering and supervising approved immunizations, and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Donor Suitability Evaluation: Conduct confidential and effective interviews with donors to obtain necessary information regarding suitability to donate plasma.
  2. Immunization Administration: Administer and supervise approved immunizations, including red blood cell immunizations.
  3. Emergency Medical Care: Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including the administration of medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification.
  4. Health Assessments: Perform medical history reviews and health assessments on donors.
  5. Test Result Analysis: Assess results of donor screening and laboratory tests to determine initial and continuing donor suitability.
  6. Donor Counseling: Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results.
  7. Medical Emergency Response: Handle medical emergencies at the Center by providing routine care as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requirements
  • Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, and will be frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens. The ability to make decisions that have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit is also required.
