Mechanic for Heavy Duty Vehicles

A competitive salary is offered for this role, with an estimated annual income of $52,000 to $62,000 based on the location and industry standards. This figure is subject to change and may vary depending on the individual's qualifications and experience.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mechanic to perform routine preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, and perform repairs on our Heavy Duty Vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair, with experience working with diesel engines and knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
Responsibilities- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- Able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
