Key Responsibilities- Plan, design, complete, and manage a variety of municipal and private owner-driven civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and develop construction, design documents, and plans.
- Collaborate with other Farnsworth Group disciplines and consultants.
- Occasional project, city staff, and board meetings.
- Communicate planning objectives for clients' current and future projects.
- Prepare project proposals and assist with business development efforts and project development.
- Interaction with IDOT, IEPA, County, MWRD, and understanding of project submittals.
- Team leader and mentoring younger engineers.
- Manage, support, and build relationships with clients and agencies.
- Conduct project field observation and condition assessments.
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
- 8 – 15 years of related civil engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or actively seeking licensure.
- Certified Floodplain Manager a plus.
- Federal, State, local regulatory authorities, IDOT experience.
- Experience working with municipal and private clients.
- IDOT – MFT project experience a plus.
- Sanitary sewer, water line, and stormwater management design experience a plus.
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoPak, SS4, MicroStation, or OpenRoads experience.
- Team experience with multiple ongoing projects.
- Contract development skills.
- Construction engineering and observation knowledge.
