Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual who possesses strong multitasking skills and is eager to contribute positively as part of our team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily animal husbandry tasks, including preparing and providing diets, ensuring animals are fed and hydrated, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of animal habitats.
  • Engage in cross-training across various zoo departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and monitor animal behavior, reporting any notable observations.
  • Participate in behavioral enrichment programs and management initiatives for our animal collection.
  • Conduct routine animal handling and health care procedures.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of exhibits, animal facilities, and equipment as per training.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in animal care and handling (preferably in a zoo or wildlife park setting) or 2 years of paid internships in related fields with strong references.

A degree in Biology, Zoology, or Animal Science is advantageous but not mandatory.


Application Requirements:
Your resume must clearly outline your animal care experience. If you claim 3 years of experience, it should be verifiable on your resume; otherwise, it may lead to disqualification.

Additional Skills:
Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively on daily tasks and park initiatives is required.

Strong comprehension of oral and written instructions is necessary, along with the ability to communicate effectively in both formats.

Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships is crucial, as is proficiency in executing assigned responsibilities.

Effective time management skills in a fast-paced environment are important, along with the physical capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, kneel, bend, crouch, squat, and stand for extended periods.

Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, is required. Teamwork with fellow staff members is essential.

Ability to perform effectively in diverse weather conditions is necessary.
